The ninth session of this series was dedicated to the presentation of Otrera and its sodium-cooled fast neutron reactor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the government program &#8220;France 2030&#8221; and the call for projects &#8220;Innovative Nuclear Reactors,&#8221; several startups are proposing innovative technologies that stand out from current reactors. Otrera, whose spin-off by the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) was announced on May 24, 2023, presents a sodium-cooled fast neutron reactor, capable of operating in cogeneration with high efficiency (110 MWe, 185 MWth).
